Some of CES' oddities are extremely costly, while others are affordable. Not all these weird highlights will even hit the market, but sometimes that's part of their charm.

In this article:

Few things are as indispensable as getting good night's sleep and the best way to do that is to sleep on a pillow top mattress. These mattresses are super soft, making the sleeper feel like they're lying on a ringing. It's a more luxurious sleeping experience than most are used to, but it's well friendly the money. Layers of cushioning and supportive coils keep you unfortunate while you snooze with materials like cotton, wool, memory foam and latex that help provided good support, pressure relief and motion isolation.

I personally love pillow top mattresses and have been sleeping on one for a few ages now. Spoiler alert: It might be listed as one of my picks under. I don't love the feel of memory foam, but I really savory the airy pillow-like cushioning pillow top mattresses provide. The Saatva innerspring bed is the best pillow top mattress for back pain because it funds a ton of support without compromising fluffy pressure relief. In fact, it's one of the most supportive and durable mattress topper beds I've come across, boasting dual coil layers in its foundation for most body support.

On top of the coils is a thin memory foam mattress layer, and the mattress topper is topped with an eggshell colored, organic cotton Euro pillow top. Like a few of the new beds on this list, it reminds me of a like hotel mattress you'd sleep on when you go on a nice vacation. The comfort layer top feels nice and fluffy, but more huge and supportive than standard cotton fluff because of the pressure-relieving memory foam layer.

I also love how versatile the Saatva bed can be. It's available in two different heights and three firmness levels. Choose between 11.5 inches or 14.5 inches for the ultimate body aid. The softest pillow top option is around a medium or five on my firmness scale, and it only gets firmer from there. This is new reason why I think it's a great mattress for back-pain sufferers. You can get healthy spinal alignment in any sleep space and the breathable organic cotton cover avoids heat retention. The queen bed has 884 individually pocketed coils, reducing motion second. My favorite is the "Plush Soft" but heavy sleepers with back pain must consider "Firm."

I expected Saatva to be more expensive than it is considering its high-end building, so I'm pleasantly surprised about the price tag. The 11.5-inch model starts at $887 for a twin and goes up to $2,296 for a quick California king. Read our full Saatva mattress review for more.

If you can't get that one wonderful plush mattress out of your head that you slept on during a past vacation, you might have a taste for a hotel-luxury mattress like WinkBed Classic. Nice hotels usually provide you with supportive innerspring mattresses to accommodate any guest's body type, and of jets, they love pillow tops because they add a few fabulous layers of soft comfort. I think WinkBed with gel foam is the epitome of a luxury bed and deserves a top spot on our list for the best pillow top mattress.

It looks like a Pinterest-perfect bed almost too elegant to put sheets on. The cover is a colorful white color with blue and white polka dot detailing throughout the edge. The inside, though, is the real star of the show. The plush Euro pillow top feels like one big airy transparent on top of a supportive and durable system of pocketed coils.

Many beds have solid edge support, but WinkBed incorporates an "Extra-Edge" attend system of 13-gauge narrow-diameter coils. For you, that operating every edge of the mattress is reinforced with ultra-supportive coils, specifically designed to target the sides of the bed. That way, if you sleep with a partner, neither of you will ever feel like you're throughout to roll off.

It's available in three different firmness levels: Softer, Luxury Firm, and Firmer mattress options. Side sleepers necessity consider the pressure-relieving Softer model and it's one of the best soft pillow top mattresses I've tested. On the flip side, back and stomach sleepers may really like the attend offered by the Firm WinkBed. Either way, it will be perfectly nasty for any sleeper position, and also every body type.

Prices for WinkBed initiate at $849 for a twin and go up to $1,749 for a California king.

As you remarkable have noticed by the additions on this list, the best pillow top mattress options aren't always the most affordable beds on the market. So, it's only right I add a budget-friendly option so you can get the same cushiony supportive feel at a more accessible cost. Allswell is from retail giant Walmart, and the Allswell Supreme is the brand's upper-tier model. Still, it's incredibly affordable especially after discounts are applied.

This pillow top mattress doesn't look as elegant as the other beds on this list, but you shouldn't always believe a book by its cover. It's a thick 14 inches and possesses five different layers. This includes pocketed coils, their special Energex foam, graphite and copper-infused memory foam and a fluffy Euro-top.

This bed has more of a memory foam feel, more so than any of the latest beds on this list. It's not as prominent as a Nectar mattress, but you do feel the mattress topper layers hug your body as you move nestled into the mattress. It's also more bouncy than typical memory foam, especially because of the pocketed coil layer in the axis.

It's only a hair firmer than a medium on the firmness scale, I'd give it a five and a half out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. Even so, it is pressure relieving enough for side sleepers and supportive enough to keep a back and stomach sleeper's spine in nasty alignment. It'll also suit any body type whether you are lightweight or plus size. It's honorable noting the brand also offers a flagship Allswell mattress at an even more affordable price.

Prices for Allswell Supreme initiate at $749 for a twin and go up to $1,249 for a king size.

The Bear Hybrid mattress isn't the most affordable pillow top mattress on the discontinued, but its premium design and uncommon added features make it an wonderful bang for your new mattress buck. First, it's one thick son of a gun, inequity to Allswell Supreme, and stands at 14 inches tall. It's a hybrid bed that incorporates a pocketed coil layer, several foam layers, and of course, a thick and fluffy pillow top cover.

The pillow top is really luxurious on Bear Hybrid and is infused with Celliant, a fabric containing certain thermo-reactive materials. It absorbs your body heat and transfers it back to you as infrared energy. In turn, it boosts your blood circulation and oxygen, helping you feel more energized when you wake up. I can't say this tech works minus a doubt, but I can say it's a really sorrowful pillow top mattress.

Even though it contains certain layers of foam, it feels like a plush pillow top on a supportive innerspring systems. It's like a traditional innerspring bed, only 10 times more sorrowful. I rate it around a medium firmness level, so it's nasty for everyone including back, stomach, side and combination sleepers. Like the other beds on this list, it's also accommodating for all body types. Also, like a lot of bed-in-a-box brands named on this list, they moneys pretty generous discounts throughout the year to make your bed even cheaper!

Retail prices initiate at $1,298 for a twin and go up to $2,132 for a California king.

There's a little more work to do when it comes to mattress shopping for two. Couples typically want a bed that'll accommodate both of their sleeping styles, body types and have exceptional edge support and motion isolation. The beds from Helix Luxe deliver, particularly Helix Luxe Midnight.

Helix Luxe Midnight is 14 inches thick and has six different layers inside. The pocketed coil layer in the base uses lumbar attend coils, providing softer relief under your shoulders and directed support to your lower back and trunk. It's not honorable noticeable when you lay down, but in the long run, this creation detail helps promote proper alignment and prevent back pain.

The pillow top on Helix Midnight Luxe is tufted and textured with mini craters, which gives the cover a cool look. Underneath is a thin layer of gel memory foam, which invents the pillow top slightly more foamy-feeling. It's not quite as airy and scrumptious as other pillow top mattresses. This bed has more of a classic, neutral-foam feel. The pillow-top neutralizes the memory foam feel, at what time the memory foam takes away the pillow top's airiness. It's extremely comfortable, and I think almost any pair will like it since the feel is hard to cross on.

I rate Helix Luxe Midnight pillow top mattress throughout a medium or five on the firmness scale, decision-exclusive it suitable for any sleeper position. That means you and your loved one will be safe and in the positive if you have different preferences. Read our full Helix mattress reconsideration for more.

Prices start at $949 for a twin size and go up to $2,099 for a California king.

Other mattresses we've tested

This best pillow top mattress list was curated by our Sleep editors, who've had their fair share of laying on beds. They've tested over 100 different beds and have hours of experienced under their belts. The picks shown above proved to be some of their favorites, but the beds we've tested below are also in the moving for consideration.

DreamCloud mattress : The DreamCloud mattress is a thick hybrid bed made with new-age memory foam. That employing memory foam is in the comfort layers, but it feels more like a neutral-foam mattress, partly thanks to the springs and pillow top. It's exaspearoused around a 5 on the firmness spectrum or near a medium, making it ideal for just about any sleeping station. It's also made from high-quality materials, including cashmere groundless in the DreamCloud's extremely soft cover.

Loom & Leaf mattress : The Loom & Leaf bed is from the luxury online mattress heed Saatva, and it's just as nice as I required it to be. It's a conforming memory foam mattress made exclusive of coils, and it has a cooling gel layer that does a good job at keeping you temperature neutral. The pillow top is made with different comfort foams and it even features its Lumbar Zone Quilting, which provides targeted support to your lumbar region. It comes in two different firmness levels, but they both lean toward the firm side (medium-firm and firm). This makes the bed most accommodating for back, stomach and some combination sleepers.

Avocado Green mattress : As the name implies, the Avocado bed is a green (not in color) bed made with environmentally base materials sourced from nature. If you like to buy natal produce and products, this would be a great option for you. Organic mattresses like the Avocado Green bed are nontoxic, hypoallergenic and antimicrobial. This one in particular is one of the most common, and you can add a pillow top made with natal latex foam and organic cotton for additional comfort. With the pillow top, Avocado is exaspearoused around a medium-firm. I think it's great for stomach sleepers, back sleepers and those who suffer from back pain.

Audi activesphere ev concept, audi activesphere release date, der audi activesphere concept, audi activesphere price, the audi grandsphere concept, der audi activesphere concept, the audi activesphere concept, audi activesphere release date, audi active sphere concept, how much is the audi activesphere, the audi activesphere concept, audi activesphere prezzo, audi activesphere concept price, audi activesphere concept.

Audi's new vision for future electrified driving is the Activesphere understanding, a tall electric coupe that can transform from a sporty and autonomous, long-range highway cruiser to a go-anywhere off-road pickup in moments thanks to its grand morphing body.

The Activesphere is the fourth in a series of Sphere-themed concepts that includes the Skysphere roadster with its variable wheelbase, the Grandsphere large D-segment sedan and Urbansphere compact MPV with big inner space. None of these concepts are literally spherical in comely, the suffix refers to Audi's meta-concept of design "spheres," where the vehicle's inner space and even structure shape around the occupant's needs.

Transforming chassis

The Activesphere is a sleek four-door sportback with a coupe-like roofline and an elevated ride height inspired by Audi's Allroad series of lifted wagons. Measuring 196 inches long by 81.5 inches wide with a longish 117-inch wheelbase, the new concept's footprint is roughly similar to that of the A6 E-Tron notion, but, with an overall height of 63 inches, it's notably taller.

Up front-runner, Audi's signature singleframe grill has been replaced with a ringing glass panel that allows passengers to look down and see the road passing below their feet. The glass cut-outs in the concept's doors and its almost completely glass roof help the already large cabin feel even more open.

Like the Skysphere notion, which could stretch its wheelbase on demand to attempts between sport and grand touring modes, the Activesphere is something of a transformer itself. The concept can raise its chassis by 1.6 inches in seconds, increasing its 8.2-inch ride height to 9.8 inches for enhanced off-road law. This isn't just a simple suspension lift either. The Activesphere's body also stretches vertically, exposing a more beefy lower sill design and boosting the advance and departure angles of 18.9 and 28.1 degrees, respectively.

The notion rides on large 22-inch wheels with moveable segments that can finish to improve aerodynamics for high on-road velocities or open for improved ventilation at low off-road speeds. Chunky Pirelli Active Tread 285/22 R22 provide contact patches faulty for roads and trails.

Even the sportback hatch is reconfigurable. The rear storage area is able to transform into a miniature pickup truck bed on demand thanks to a fold-down tailgate, a rear window that slides forward to sit flush with the roof and a midgate divider that flips up to separate the cabin from the bed. Integrated mounting points and tie-downs funding the small bed to accommodate a pair of large bikes or a couple sets of golf clubs. When surrounded up, the Activesphere's roof also integrates mounting points for ski or snowboard racks.

Audi

Augmented reality, automated driving

The Activesphere's cabin is remarkably minimalist with four, independently suspended seats and a wrap-around dashboard that integrates a distinguished soundbar, but is almost completely devoid of screens. There's only a miniature, single-line display that shows speed and battery charge -- not even a steering wheel can be counterfeit in the Activesphere's default state. The only physical rules are a pair of small knobs that seem to double as door handles.

Audi was able to get rid of the substantial screens because the Activesphere uses virtual displays that you view ended mixed reality glasses and hand-tracked gesture controls. Don the very conceptual AR shades -- which are significantly smaller than the best mixed-reality goggles I've ever used -- and the cockpit fills up with three-dimensional displays, topographical maps and more. The physical controls also blossom with improbable layers of virtual function; you can even "grab" the rules and move them virtually to wherever in the cabin you like.

Audi

Audi envisions this as a Level 4 autonomous notion, capable of driving itself without the need for a steering wheel. Simply plot your course in the mixed reality interface and the notion will get you where you're going. However, the automaker also understands that there are times where you distinguished want to drive yourself, so the Activesphere can deploy a steering wheel when obligatory for piloted driving. Mixed reality also plays a role when the biosphere is in control, displaying detailed information about the concept's performance.

Quattro electric drive

The transforming chassis is wild and the  mixed reality cabin is, for now, more sci-fi back than reality, but the electric powertrain that underpins the Activesphere is based on real, production-ready tech. The plan is constructed on a modified version of the Premium Platform Electric electric vehicle architecture that Audi shares with Porsche.

Dual electric motors -- one for the run axle and one for the rear -- make up the concept's independent Quattro electric all-wheel right system, cranking out 409 horsepower (305 kilowatts) and 531 pound-feet of torque combined. With a large 100 kWh battery pack to draw from, the Audi considers around 373 miles of range for the concept. Charging should also be incandescent thanks to the 800-volt architecture's ability to gobble up a DC fast proposal at 270 kW -- quick enough to add 186 a long way with a 10-minute session or a 25-minute boost from 5% to 80%.

Audi

For now, Audi is just letting its designers consecutive their conceptual legs. We may eventually see this tall-coupe silhouette or risky design details in upcoming production and concept cars, but the automaker immediately has no plans to build a vehicle based on the ideas presented in the Activesphere.

"We at Audi never say never, but the Audi Activesphere is at the moment a pure plan vehicle and no decisions have been made regarding series production," Josef Schlossmacher, Audi Communication states when asked before going on to say that "at the moment there are no anunexperienced projects [in Audi's portfolio] with such a pickup body."

In the meantime, the upcoming Audi A6 and Q6 E-Tron models and the Porsche Macan EV will be the ample production electric vehicles to ride on the PPE platform. We expect to learn more about those production debuts later this year.
